Set somewhere in the 18th century. As u can see its incomplete.
Untitled[Give it a title if you like]We'd stare into the stars, watch as the constellations etched themselves into our memories. And we'd listen, though never close enough,to the sounds that equalled the sounds of heaven. But they'd always say,its just like looking down the surface of a mirrored pond, you never really know, what's staring right back at you.He stared out at the vast expanse. The sun dappled the sky with hues of twilight, sweeping the canvas with great brilliant strokes. The waves rushed ashore, and he'd listen,as Mother Sea breathed her slow rasping breaths, content just to sit there and listen. He took the occasional swig from the half spent tankard, the ale burning down his throat. He paused mid-gulp as the shuffling of feet drew upon him,a slow raucous and lumbering gait that was all too distinct to him.
"Aye young lad, skiving off are we?"
He heard the deep full bodied voice draw close.A large, worn hand clasped his shoulder warmly.
"You've never been one for a quiet entrance are you uncle? The herds could've heard you a league away, the way you walk."
He turned to exchange smiles, scanning the calloused face of a man who'd seen better days.Deep lines ran through his face, the timeworn look of knowing that marked his age,yet his eyes betrayed the shaggy haggard appearence that bore him the resemblance to just about any peasant, they burned with the workings of a keen mind, eyes that told of an endearing soul.
"Tell me my boy, just what do you see in the ocean?"
He looked towards the distant horizon, where the sun vainly painted the vestiges that marked his passing. That too would fade, just as all things did,and another sort would come into being.
"The feeling of eternity.Isnt it?Staring out into something that's been here before us,preceding everything we know, and perhaps everything else in its own right. It's like sitting on the edge of a cliff, and staring down into a well, staring right down into answers to the incalculable questions that plague the multitude,be it the scholar, king, knight or peasant. It's as if it beckons us,calling with the voice of the ancients, only we never listen hard enough."
He sighed, running his hands through the mess of hair he kept.
"We seek answers in the places that touch some part of us,a part of us that came from the land, that tie us to the soil, the birds and even the trees. My boy one day we will find them,if not till our last breath."
His uncle smiled, that wide angled toothy smile of his that'd always warmed Raiyen.
"Come now,Agatha'll be toasting my arse for breakfast if I dont get ourselves back fer dinner lad.Go on,gather your stuff,my arse isnt as tasteful as i'd like it to be,besides there are some parts of me i'd much rather prefer te keep."
